3 PRINCIPLES OF Winning Faith
“Winning” faith is Godly, committed, overcoming faith. Did you realize that living by faith is so important that the Bible reiterates this principle four times!?
Hab. 2:4b – “the just shall live by his faith”
Rom. 1:17 – “For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”
Gal. 3:11 – “But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for “the just shall live by faith.”
Heb 10:38 – “Now the[a] just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.”
So, let’s look at three principles of “winning” Faith:
1. Winning Faith is Focused Faith
Winning faith focuses on God’s power, despite your weakness
a. Hab 2:4a “Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him
b. When you focus on God’s power, not your own, YOU DON’T GET distracted!
c. Prov 19:21 – Many plans are in a man’s heart, But the counsel of the LORD will stand.
The world we live in teaches us to focus on our own ideas and plans – God’s Vision never negotiates with your ideas or circumstances!
No matter what situation you’re facing, God has “greater” and “better” for you!
Prov 3:5-6 – Trust in the lord with all your heart –And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct[a] your paths.
2. Winning Faith is Obedient Faith –
Obedient Faith Protects and Promotes You
a. Exo. 19:5 – Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine.
b. Obedience – Protects/insulates you from failure – Obedient FAITH — Obey God in the smalll things and the Big things will work out!
a. Luke 16:10 “He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much; and he who is unrighteous in a very little thing is unrighteous also in much.
3. Winning Faith is Persevering Faith
Persevering Faith never gives up! It puts God’s WORD over the circumstances —
a. Hab 2:4b – The Just shall LIVE by his faith”
Dr. Myles Munroe once said, “When things happen that you can’t explain and nothing seems to be working –we have to refocus our faith. It’s not about having faith so that you can get God to do good things for you…it’s about simply believing God—despite the circumstances.”
“Your faith is only as strong as the test it survives.”
