1957 – born in Twinsburg, OH.
1974 – Graduated High School, Attended Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, OH; became director of the BGSU Gospel Choir.
1978 – Graduated Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Music Degree (Education).
1978 – Married Roland T. Hairston; became minister of music for Highway Church of Christ, New York City. Worked in Data Processing at Pepsico.
1980 – Gave birth to son, Roland II.
1981 – Attended Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville; became minister of music for Pure Gospel Temple, St. Louis, MO. Worked as a school teacher in E. St. Louis, IL.
1982 – Graduated Southern Illinois University with a Master of Music Degree-Education. Moved to Toledo, OH, became minister of music at Christian Community Church. Worked as a school teacher in Toledo Public Schools and part-time at Toledo University.
1984 – Did some ‘amateur work as a hair model.
1986 – Divorced. Moved to Columbus, OH, became minister of music at Oakley Baptist Church, and taught in Columbus Public Schools.
1987 – Moved to New York; became minister of music at Highway Church of Christ, New York; began working at Savoy Records as National Director of Promotions. Published the Savoy Record newsletter for the company.
1989 – Started SCORE Magazine (later became Gospel Today Magazine).
1991- Moved to Nashville to work at Benson Records – marketing director for Commissioned, Fred Hammond; marketing director and executive producer for Thomas A. Whitfield, Vernessa Mitchell, Rhani Song & Kingdom, Albertina Walker, signed Hezekiah Walker and GMWA Mass Choir; became minister of music at Victory Baptist Church. Produced the Vision Awards TV Show for Bobby Jones Gospel. Became a board member of Gospel Music Association. Co-Founded the United Gospel Industry Council (UGIC).
1992 –Left Benson Records to work fulltime with SCORE Magazine.
1994 – Launched SCOREBOARD – a Gospel Industry periodical that was the first African American owned Gospel publication to publish a national radio and retail chart.
1995 – Hosted the 5th Year anniversary of SCORE at the World Baptist Center in Nashville, TN. Changed the name of SCORE to Gospel Today Magazine; and SCOREBOARD became Gospel Industry Today.
1996 – Received Special Recognition award from Don Jackson/Stellar Awards. Launched the Gospel Heritage Foundation annual celebration “to perpetuate the Gospel heritage and preserve the Gospel legacy.” Saluted various Gospel pioneers and trendsetters.
2001-Launched a weekly “Gospel Today TV” Show on The Word Network; two national weekly radio “Gospel Today Update” broadcasts, on the ABC “Rejoice” Radio Network and the Sheridan Gospel Network (SGN/The Light), and forged partnerships with Gospelcity.com and blackgospelpromo.com. Changed the focus of Gospel Today Magazine to Christian Lifestyle. Gospel Today Magazine became the most widely distributed Gospel publication in history.
2002 – Presented the first Gospel Heritage Praise & Worship Conference “to help mentor praise and worship leaders into understanding the importance of their call and position in the body of Christ.” Recorded the first “Gospel Today Presents” CD project (Verity Records) at Gospel Heritage, featuring the song, “Magnify” which Hairston wrote.
Moved to Atlanta, GA
2003 – Pursuing her passion for fashion, opened Horizon’s Boutique, a retail enterprise offering women’s clothing and accessories. Closed the store in 2008 and handles personal shopping for only certain clients.
2004 – Released “Praise & Worship…Volume 2,” featuring top recording artists: Vickie Winans, Pastor Donnie McClurkin, Pastor Marvin Sapp, Tonex, Elder William Murphy
2005 – Received honorary Doctor of Humanities degree from Richmond Virginia Seminary.
2005- Hosted Gospel Music Celebration at the White House. Published (over the next five years) several “special issues” and souvenir journals for Full Gospel Baptist Fellowship, Woman! Thou Art Loosed, Gospel Music Workshop of America, and MegaFest as well as several top grossing Gospel music tours. Launched Gospel Today Entertainment, a record label. The next installations of “Praise & Worship” CDs were titled, GT3: “Precious Jesus” (produced by Donald Lawrence, released in 2005) and GT4 (produced by Cedric Thompson, released in 2007) featuring dynamic worship music.
2007- Hosted Gospel at the White House (2nd time).
2008 – Graduated with an earned Doctor of Ministry (Preaching) from Richmond Virginia Seminary.
